Online Services Whitelist File FAQ
A whitelist file gives you a convenient way to manage your whitelist.
Each line in your whitelist file contains either an email address or
domain from which you want to accept email. Only email addresses
listed in your whitelist file will be able to send you mail. Any
email from an email address or domain not listed in your whitelist
file will be deleted.
Your personal whitelist file must be a plaintext file. You can use
any text editor to create this file, but you must be sure to save the
file in plaintext format. If you are using a Windows computer, the
Notepad editor is simple to use and will save your whitelist file as
plaintext by default. If you are using Word, you must be sure to save
your file as a text (.txt) document.
Creating Your Whitelist File
- Start up your favorite text editor (for example, Notepad or Word).
- Add all the email addresses and domains you want to allow on your
whitelist, one per line. For information on email addresses and domains,
please see the Whitelist Rules.
- Save the file to your computer. You must save the file in
plaintext (.txt) format. The name of the file can be anything. We
suggest whitelist.txt.
- Upload your whitelist file to our system using the
Whitelist Manager.
Editing Your Whitelist File
- Open up your whitelist file in your favorite text editor.
- Add/remove email addresses and domains in your whitelist file.
For information on email addresses and domains, please see the Whitelist Rules.
- Save your changes. You must save the file in plaintext (.txt)
format.
- Upload your whitelist file to our system using the
Whitelist Manager.
Getting a Copy of Your Whitelist File
At any time, you may get a copy of your whitelist file using this form. To save it to your
computer, use the File->Save Page menu option in your browser.
