Sandy Beaches Cruise VIII
Last year as I wrote my story of
SBC VII
I was very linear . . . the story began as I got to the
ship and proceeded in relatively accurate chronological order through
the week. My approach this year will be a little different as you can
see by the links below. Since I am not emailing the story, but posting
it here, I can do more with graphics . . . and I think the photos
will be a lot more interesting than my words. I wanted this to provide
a more visual impression of the week . . . we'll see if that actually
works.
I must say that I am experimenting a bit with images on
the site . . . everything I took began as 35mm 4x6 prints that I
scanned and converted to JPEG files . . . (I know this is probably
really boring, but . . .) getting scanning resolutions and image sizes
just right so that the photos are recognizable AND will open in a reasonable
amount of time whatever your connection speed is tricky to say the least
. . . and if anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear them, as
I am completely fumbling around with this stuff. I also want to
thank Brian Reed for sending me some great shots. I think between us I had
over 500 shots to choose from . . . good thing a lot of them looked awful,
as it made deciding a little easier. :-)
