Inventory of Douglas and Umpqua County Resources
in Connie Lenzen's Library

I use my on-site genealogical library of books, microfilms, and CDs for client projects. It saves time and money when the resource is next to my computer.

If you find a book that interests you, use WorldCat to locate it in a library and request it on Interlibrary Loan.

Douglas County was created in 1852 from the portion of Umpqua County lying east of the Coast Range Summit. Coos County, formed in 1853, annexed all of Umpqua County lying south of the Umpqua River. Lane County, in 1853, was given the northern half. In 1862, the remainder of Umpqua County was absorbed by Douglas County.
